Community Health

BAME CDC’s Community Health program “Viva Life!” promotes healthy lifestyles by providing residents of Greater Logan Heights with information about ways to improve their physical and emotional well-being. “Viva Life!” offers workshops and resources to educate our community on a variety of topics, including cardiovascular health, breast and cervical cancer, nutrition and healthy eating, children’s health, methods for coping with chronic conditions such as diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease, medication management, and consumer protection. Additionally, BAME CDC partners with Planned Parenthood to provide seminars about sexual and reproductive health for teens and adults in the neighborhood. Viva Life!, BAME CDC’s Community Health program promotes healthy lifestyles, provides information enabling community residents to maintain or improve their independence, and educates our local residents about improving their physical and emotional well-being.

Held at various venues throughout the Greater Logan Heights neighborhoods, all sessions are FREE and hosted in partnership with local medical and other nonprofits. Events with less than 10 reservations are subject to cancellation. We make every effort to avoid cancellations. We will contact you in advance if an event is canceled.

For an updated list of events and to RSVP call (619) 858-0563.
